Harvest and Halloween Events

Farms, attractions, and neighborhoods across New Jersey celebrate the fall season with fun-filled harvest festivals and spooky Halloween events. Visitors can enjoy quintessential autumn activities like pumpkin-picking, apple-picking, hayrides, and haunted houses!

Heaven Hill Farms Great Pumpkin Festival 

September 14th-November 3rd, 451 State Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462 

Located in Sussex county, this is the largest fall festival in northern New Jersey. Features more than 30 attractions such as pig racing, an obstacle course, monster slingshots, a spider web crawl, a petting zoo and other traditional activities including a corn maze plus hay, pony and carnival rides.

Terhune Orchards  

September 14-October 27th; weekends only 

Come to Terhune Orchards in Princeton every weekend this fall for great farm fun, great food and great music. Visit the Adventure Barn and the winery tasting room. Enjoy all the apple fare. Participate in all the fall-related activities such as mazes, rides and pumpkin-painting. 

Snyder’s Farm Fall Festival

September 28 thru October 27, weekends only. 

Located in Somerset, activities like hayrides, pumpkin picking, corn maze, moon bounce, potato sack slide, pedal carts, food and music will entertain the whole family. Farm store will be open during Festival weekends. Note: Credit cards not accepted at this time. http://snyders-farm.com/ 

Lupardi’s Nursery Fall Fun 

September 21 thru October 27th. Weekends only.

Located in Closter, Bergen county. Features corn maze, tractor-pulled wagon rides, farm animals feeding zoo and a 30-ft. tree house slide. Stop by the snack hut to munch on hot dogs, pretzels, fresh donuts, juice, cider or water. Make sure to visit the haunted greenhouse which will leave you shaking in your boots!

Alstedes Farm – Fall Family Fun   Daily, through November 11th. In this Chester family-owned farm, come pick your own fruits and vegetables and participate in fall fun activities! Oasis Family Farm   Now open every weekend in Robbinsville. U-Pick pumpkins starts September 21st. This Halloween, treat your kids to something REALLY sweet at Oasis Family Farm! “Little Monster Kids Trail” is a kid-friendly, family-oriented, interactive activity that will help you discover the little monster that exists within you! Halloween Attractions  

Brighton Asylum – Passaic. Originally a facility for violent mentally ill patients and closed down in the 50s, it opened in 2011 as a haunted attraction filled with special effects and animatronics. Dubbed “one of the scariest places on Earth” so brace yourself to be horrified! www.brightonasylum.com   

Cornfield of Terror – Egg Harbor City. Creepy twist on the classic fall favorite corn maze with terror around every stalk. Ages 10 and up. www.cornfieldofterror.com   

Dracula’s Domain – Jackson. Haunted hayride through 66 acres of deep dark woods. Then, walk through Psycho Path, a terrifying trail overrun with monsters. www.draculasdomain.com   

Haunted Scarehouse – Wharton. If you dare, walk through this two-floor horror house with chainsaws, prisoners and ghouls galore. Walk, or run, through the torture chambers, cells and other funhouses. Pantophobia –Montvale. Visit DiPiero’s Farm to see Cyrus Grain haunt the Farmstand. Wagonloads of visitors, or “victims”, are trapped onboard until it completes its journey. www.pantophobia.com   

Scary Rotten Farms – Brick Twp. Biggest nightmares turn into reality as you choose your fate by entering either the Chaotic Carnival of Chaos, or Blackened the Plague where you dodge violently-ill apocalypse survivors.
